The development of the car stuck in the 19 Century is still in its infancy, more than coach car. It was not until the invention of the combustion engine in 1886 by Carl Benz made out of the car a popular lovers object. Besides Benz, Gottlieb Daimler also built the first cars and co-founded Wilhelm Maybach its Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft. At the same time were also more car factories in Europe and the USA, so the competition began at the car. Greatest competition got the Germans out of France, had there with Peugeot established a strong vehicle manufacturers.
First limited, however, the car manufacturer only to one region, because the vehicles were at first an absolute luxury and could only be bought by rich people. Mid-20th Century changed the bodywork of the cars, so the first model developed with the roof closed. Top Seller at the time was the Mercedes-Simplex, which was even driven by the German Emperor Wilhelm II. Cars were therefore continue to enjoy a very expensive, because every single car part was then still made by hand and Attached. Only with assembly-line production of Ford in 1913, was the car affordable for everyone and could reach many more people.
